Tesla Autopilot Update: Toward a Fully Autonomous Future

In recent years, Tesla has been making strides in the field of Autopilot. 2024 has seen a number of significant achievements in Autopilot technology, so let’s take stock.

Ⅰ. FSD technology upgrade to version V12.5

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology has been upgraded to version V12.5, a release made possible by the upgrade of the on-board AI chip. Upgraded from HW3.0 to HW4.0, Tesla’s vehicles are able to more accurately simulate human driving behavior, relying on pure vision technology and a large amount of driving data to bring drivers a safer and more convenient driving experience.

Ⅱ, Safety performance dramatically improved

According to Tesla’s safety report for the first quarter of 2024, the safety of Tesla vehicles using Autopilot automatic-assisted driving has reached 11.4 times of the U.S. average. This data fully proves the excellent performance of Tesla Autopilot technology in ensuring driving safety.

Ⅲ. Enhanced AI Training Computing Capability

To support the development of Autopilot technology, Tesla has increased its AI training computing power by 130% in the first quarter of 2024. This enhancement provides stronger support for autonomous driving technology, enabling vehicles to better cope with complex road conditions.

IV. Toward Fully Autonomous Driving

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that Tesla is very close to achieving fully autonomous driving status and plans to achieve L4 to L5 level fully autonomous driving later this year. This means that Tesla’s self-driving technology will be more mature, and drivers will enjoy a more convenient driving experience.

Ⅴ. Driverless cab (Robotaxi) will be released soon

Musk also confirmed that Tesla will release a driverless cab on August 8, 2024 (Robotaxi). This marks another important step for Tesla in the field of autonomous driving, and the way of traveling in the future will change drastically.

VI. New models and technologies on display

At the 2024 World Computing Congress, Tesla showcased a number of products including Model Y, Optimus, a humanoid robot, and Cybertruck (Cyber cross-country wagon). All of these products exemplify Tesla’s latest achievements in Autopilot and robotics, which are remarkable.

Summarizing:

Tesla’s latest advances in Autopilot have certainly set a new benchmark for the automotive industry. With the continuous upgrading of technology, we have reason to believe that Tesla will lead mankind into the future of fully autonomous driving. Let’s wait and see this great change coming.
