No oncoming drivers have flashed their lights at me, indicating these bulbs are suitable for road use. I adjusted the headlight height slightly using the Tundra's in-cab vertical adjustment controls. Others may need to make similar adjustments during installation or directly on the headlight assembly.
During installation, carefully follow the included instructions: remove the plastic ring from the bulb's top, use the original clip and rubber seal, position the bulb opening upward, align the LEDs at 9 and 3 o'clock, and rotate slightly if needed for optimal beam alignment.
Note that each vehicle's headlight reflector produces a unique beam pattern. A perfect horizontal cutoff is unlikely unless using projector-type reflectors. Some scattered light is normal, but the majority should remain focused forward.
While working on other repairs in the grill area, I decided to upgrade the headlights. Installation was simple, though I had to remove the rubber donut seal around the halogen bulb's power jack since the new LED bulbs have cooling fans that prevent its reinstallation. Hopefully this won't cause any issues.
After two nighttime drives with the new LEDs, I've received no complaints from other drivers. My truck has daytime running lights that operate at 40% power normally, switching to full power when the headlights are activated at night.
The only concern is that the daytime running lights now operate at 70-80% power, making the transition to full headlights barely noticeable. I worry this might reduce the LEDs' lifespan.
Aside from this minor issue, I'm extremely satisfied with these LED bulbs' performance and highly recommend them!
