Installation in my 2016 Escape was challenging. The OEM headlamp assembly had tight tolerances, requiring the plug to be reversed for a snug fit. On a non-OEM insurance replacement assembly, the fit was even tighter—I had to lower the beam to its maximum downward position to insert the bulb properly (again with the plug reversed) before readjusting the alignment. I’ll need to remember this step for future replacements.
The final result met my expectations, though the fit would be ideal if the elbow were 0.25" shorter. Overall, it’s a high-quality bulb, but improved compatibility would be a welcome enhancement.
At under $30, these are significantly cheaper than the high-end LEDs I use for my headlights (Morimoto 2S3.0, S-V.4, and GTR U2). Fog lights are less demanding regarding LED emitter size and position, and while the chipsets here are small—similar to pricier options—I’d still keep them in the fog position due to their less precise light output compared to premium alternatives.
**Addendum:** One of the lights suffered water ingress into the housing. It took me a few months to notice, and I drained it (still searching for a sealing solution—I’ll check for water after each rainy drive until fixed). Despite being wet, the bulb lasted a while before flickering, so I replaced the pair. I love the pure yellow color—it works great as a running light and adds visibility to my small silver car.
